Manito Aki Inaajimowin Committee
The purpose of this committee is to maintain harmonious working relations and to provide a forum for the exchange of information between Chief and Council, Management, Community and Proponents using our Manito Aki Inaajimowin process.
Economic Development Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad understands a need to have a committee under Wegimaawadizid called the economic Development Committee. To enhance the economic climate and business opportunities for the members of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation
Education Committee
The purpose of this committee is to maintain harmonious working relations and to provide a forum for the exchange of information between members, Chief and Council, Managagement, and Education Institutes.
Ganawendaasowin Committee
Kaonji Izhishigeying "Why we do this". Mission Statement: The mission of Ganawendaasowin Committee will view the needs of children within the context of the extended family; and provide support, assistance, advice and guidance to the Ganawendaasowin Team whose primary role is to assist the First Nation members to help themselves and each other to care for their children according to the First Nation's values, standards, practices and customs. Maintaining an Anishinaabe child's identity, language and sense of belonging must be of prime importance.
Housing Committee
- Committee exists to determine eligibility for housing for all applicants
- They also exists to prioritize renovation requests for the Band buildings and housing (Council to send letters as committee does not make final decisions.)
- The committee provides options to the Chief and Council and they have final say
- We would like to develop a better filing system on each houising unit
- We would like to assess a housing unit before and after house is occupied or vacated for damages (structually or tenant caused)
- Co-ordinate with Environmental Health Officer (John Steele) especially if mold is a concern
- Revise and update the Housing Policy
- Become familiar with the minor capital budget for information and assurance of quality decisions
Recreation Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad understands a need to have a committee under Wegimaawadizid called the Recreation Committee. The Recreation Committee will help enhance the recreation activities for the members of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation.
Treaty Land Entitlement Committee
Keeping up-to-date on Treaty Land Entitlement issues.
Health & Safety Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad( Chief and Council) understands a need to have a committee under Wegimaawadizid (Our way of Governance) called the Health and Safety Committee.
Pow wow Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad ( Chief and Council) understands a need to have a committee under Wegimawaadizid ( Our way of Governance) called the Powwow Committee.
The Powwow Committee shall be a standing committee of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation. Its function is to ensure that Mitaanjigamiing is well managed and efficiently structured, with well-defined responsibilities for committee members.
Governance Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad (Chief and Council) understands a need to have a committee under Wegimaawadizid (Our way of Governance) called the Governance Committee.
Occasionally, the Governance Committee will be tasked to review and make recommendations on the Governance By-laws and Codes.

Personnel Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad (Chief and Council) understands a need to have a committee under Wegimawaadizid called the Personnel Committee.
The Personnel Committee shall be a standing committee of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation. Its function is to ensure that Mitaanjigamiing is well managed and efficiently structured, with well-defined responsibilities for employees. It is also there to ensure that Mitaanjigamiing is staffed by qualified, motivated people who achieve the desired results efficiently and with a high degree of personal satisfaction.
Community Comprehensive Plan Committee
Gagakinawadaginzowad (Chief and Council) understands a need to have a committee under Wegimaawadizid (Our way of Governance) called the Nigaan Kaa Ozhising.
The purpose of the CCP Committee is to support and guide the development of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation’s Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP). The Committee will see the process from its beginning stages all the way to Monitoring and Evaluation and support where needed. The Committee will also provide guidance to the process
Agency One Committee
The purpose of this committee is to maintain harmonious working relations and to provide a forum for the exchange of information between Agency One First Nations.
Treaty #3 Women's Council Committee
The purpose of this committee is to maintain harmonious working relations and to provide a forum for the exchange of information between women of Treaty #3.
